Finished Bolero

Well I finished my nieces bolero for her birthday. My youngest daughter wants one now in blue.

Here is a picture of the bolero. It was a pretty quick and easy knit. The only tedious part was the trim around.

I'm knitting a cozy shawl for myself this time. Well it's starting off for me but that may change as I knit it up. I've knit several shawls this way. I plan it and start it and then halfway through I think of someone who would appreciate it. Hubby teased me about keeping this one for myself. We'll see how it goes.

Finished Shawl

I've finished the shawl that I wanted to make for my mother. It was a pretty easy knit. I should have used the size needle the pattern called for though. I had to make twice as many rows since I used a smaller needle. It came out nice though. The color is still weird though.

Now I'm knitting a Bolero for my niece's birthday coming up. I'm knitting it up in pink though I am not using the suggested yarn. My youngest has requested one in blue. It's knitting up real quick and easy.

Two Dishcloths

I've knit two dishcloths in the past month. Here they are. the first one is called Cheyenna and should I knit this one up again I would definitely choose another colour. The second one I'm assuming is called Kiss Me, it was a cute knit.

I've also progressed on a shawl I've been knitting. I'm doing it in this yarn that I've had in my stash for quite some time. My mother and sister have given me much of this type of yarn and it has increased my stash so I'm finding projects for them. If not hubby won't let me buy any more yarn :( Apparently he does not share my fascination/addiction of the fiber world. :)

Anyway the yarn is acrylic so I'm guessing some red heart or something. It's red and I liked the color, but then the other day it was in the sunlight and it looked almost neon it was weird. I really like the pattern it's easy and I can knit it up without looking at the pattern. Problem is I'm almost done and I'm a little bored with it. I have to finish it before inspiration leaves me completely. I'm hoping to have it done by next week.

Booga Bag

I have wanted to felt something for months and months. I simply thought that I couldn't since I have a front loading washing machine. I had researched it last year and could not find anything about front loading washing machine felting. Well the urge to felt was too big so I researched it again just before Christmas and I went ahead and did it. I wanted a purse to start with so I chose the Booga Bag from Black Sheep Bags. I used Sean Sheep 100% wool. I discovered Sean Sheep at Walmart. Seeing as I do not have a LYS anywhere ( and I mean nowhere) near. I had purchased their Georgia Wool but it was mercerized and after much discussion concluded that it could not be felted. When I discovered Sean Sheep at 2.75 a ball I had to give it a try. The pictures do not do it justice. My girls think it's the most adorable bag ever. Seems I might have to knit up another one :)

This is my first KAL of the year from Monthly Dishclothes. It was knit up in Bernat Handicrafter color robin's egg. It was a neat knit.

Little Shells Socks

I finally finished a pair of socks and I wasn't bored with the pattern. I loved it. I knit in my spare time and I thought I would have more of that during the summer. boy was I wrong. Well my youngest loves them and now her sister wants a pair. I did promise daddy a pair of glittens for hunting this year so I've started on those.

Lelah is done!

Well I finished my version of Lelah. I couldn't do a tube top, not with my body type. It would have been no service to me or to anyone having to look at it. So I modified the top. It turned out nice, I'm going to try to block it because the straps curl. I will also probably put an elastic on the front part so it doesn't hang out and everything is out there for everyone to see.

All in all I'm satisfied with it and would probably knit up another one.
